About Us

Picture
Harvest Time Ministries (HTM), a 501 C-3 not for profit, interdenominational organization, was founded in 1983 by Revs. Donald E. (Don) and Geraldine K. (Gerry) Franck in Omaha, NE. In 1985, the Francks relocated to Bonita Springs, FL, and in 1987 began ministering to the needs of farm workers and other low income families in the Bonita Springs, Estero and N. Naples area. The ministry grew as the population and needs grew, and at this time there are 25-30 volunteers during "season" (November - April), sometimes more. In addition to HTM volunteers, St. Mary's Episcipal Church members and also Jesus La Roca (Jesus the Rock) Church have now partnered as volunteers.

Don and Gerry Franck received the J.C. Penney Golden Rule Award for Outstanding Volunteer Work in 1995 for their work with HTM and in 1999 for their work with Pueblo Bonito. They were one of 50 "Volunteers of the Year" honored in a Betty Crocker national contest in 1998. HTM was chosen by the Lee County Hispanic Advisory Board as "Ministry of the Year" at their first annual awards banquet in 2000. The Francks were inducted in the Hispanic Hall of Fame in October, 2001, only the second to receive this honor.
